Cameron Hayley and the No. 24 Cabinets by Hayley Toyota Great Finish in Iowa

Roseville, CA– Cameron Hayley, driver of the No. 24 Cabinets by Hayley Toyota Camry had a great night, bringing home a second place finish in the West Series as the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and West came together for a second time this season in a combination race. The Pork Be Inspired “150” was held at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa.

The No. 24 Cabinets by Hayley Toyota team faced very hot and humid conditions at Iowa Speedway with temperature souring above 95 degrees. Hayley was tenth during the first practice. He would later qualify on the inside of row eight.

Hayley was patient holding on to his position thru the first 75 laps. At the mandatory halfway break, the Cabinets by Hayley team with veteran crew chief Mario Isola went to work giving the No. 24 Toyota Camry four fresh tires and fuel. At lap 96 of 150, Hayley radioed in that the car was a ‘little tight but as things went on, it was loosening up a bit’. At lap 126, ‘the big one’ happened. Hayley avoided the multi-car crash coming out of turn two and moved up into the top-ten on the board. As the field pushed thru the final laps, Hayley would finish in twelfth overall but second of the West Series cars. (The East and West Series team’s points are awarded separately by series.)

“Two weeks in a row my team has given me a great No. 24 Cabinets by Hayley Toyota Camry!” said Hayley. “It was hot and very humid out making it a long day for everyone on the team. They kept pushing throughout the entire day and gave me a great piece at the end of the day.”

“I learned a ton about aerodynamics and how to make the car either better or worse by using other cars on the track. Coming from one lap down early was a tough battle through the entire race but to gain that lap back and finish in 2nd of the West Series and 12th overall… it was a great day! This is the second good week in a row and we will look for another in a couple weeks in Portland.”

Next up for the No. 24 Cabinets by Hayley/NAPA Batteries Toyota team is a visit to Portland International Raceway. This is the team from Bill McAnally Racing fourth road course of the season. The Portland “125” will be on August 26th.

The “Pork Be Inspired” race can be seen on Thursday August 16th on SPEED Channel. Check your local listings for times in your area.

Cameron Hayley and the No. 24 NAPA Batteries/Cabinets by Hayley bring home a top-three finish at Colorado National Speedway in the NAPA/Toyota “150”

Roseville, CA– Cameron Hayley put the No. 24 NAPA Batteries/Cabinets by Hayley Toyota Camry on the podium as he brought home his first top-three finish of his rookie season. The 16-year old driver from Calgary, Canada leads in the close battle for the 2012 Sunoco Rookie of the Year title.

The teams from Bill McAnally Racing came to one of their favorite tracks, Colorado National Speedway to continue to add to their top-five finishing record. In the last eight visits to CNS, team owner Bill McAnally has had eleven cars finish in the top-five with three of those finished being wins.

Hayley was 8th quick in both practices and qualified the No. 24 NAPA Batteries/Cabinets by Hayley Toyota on the inside of row three for the NAPA/Toyota “150”. Prior to the race, Hayley and his teammates did a question-and- answer/meet-n-greet with over 1000 NAPA customers, store owners and employees in the NAPA Hospitality Village between turns one and two. The night before the race, Hayley was at the Denver NAPA Distribution Center as thousands of fans came out to help raise money for the victims of the Colorado Wildfires.

The green flag fell before a sellout crowd at CNS with young Hayley moving into the top-four by lap 30. Racing in a tight pack of cars, he moved the No. 24 NAPA Batteries/Cabinets by Hayley Toyota into the top-three at lap 120. Two laps later, five cars were fighting to get thru turn three/four. Hayley dove low and was on the inside as the pack was fighting for position when the car behind him clipped the right rear corner sending Hayley around. He quickly regrouped dropping to 11th for the restart on lap 130. Ten laps later, he was once again in the chase now in fourth. At lap 145, Hayley was running in second closing in on the leader when another competitor hit the back straightaway wall causing the race to finish under a green-white-checkered scenario. Coming to the checkered flag, Hayley would narrowly lose the second position to come home in third, his first top-three finish of his rookie season.

“Finally my luck has changed around!” said Hayley “The NAPA Batteries/Cabinets by Hayley team has had a really tough year so far and we have just never been able to catch a break. We weren't so sure after practice Saturday how the car was going to handle in the race but the crew worked their butts off to get things turned around in the race. I had a great car and just stayed patient the entire race trying to conserve my tires until the end. A spin with 25 to go changed my plans a little bit but it made me even more determined to get back to the front. I wish I had a little bit more by the end but overall I was extremely happy to be back in the top three. All we need to do now is continue our momentum and look forward to a great run this week in Iowa.”

Next up for the teams from BMR is the second NASCAR K&N Pro Series Combined event of the season at Iowa Speedway on Friday night, August 3rd. The NAPA/Toyota “150” from Colorado National Speedway can be seen on SPEED Channel on Thursday, August 9th at noon pst. Please check your local listings.

Tough Weekend for Cameron Hayley and NAPA Batteries Toyota Team at Evergreen Speedway

Roseville, CA–The No. 24 NAPA Batteries/Cabinets by Hayley Toyota team with rookie driver Cameron Hayley had a disappointing weekend at Evergreen Speedway. They brought home a 19th place finish after suffering from a right-rear flat at lap 73.

Hayley was in the top-ten during the first practice and rallied to the top-five in the final practice. He would qualify putting the NAPA Batteries Toyota on row three for the 150-lap race.

It took him but a lap to jump into the top-five to begin the NAPA AUTO PARTS “150” presented by Gene Price Motorsports. The young driver was taking care of the No. 24 NAPA Batteries Toyota Camry when two laps before the scheduled halfway break, the right rear tire went flat after running over debris on the track. Smoke from the damage filled the car as Hayley was forced to bring it to the pit. Coming in during green-flag racing put them a few laps down.

Reentering the race in 21st, Hayley fought through the field, doing his best to gain a few positions and would move into 19th to take the checkered flag.

“This weekend was really tough for the NAPA Batteries/ Cabinets by Hayley Toyota and wasn't what we needed to catch up in points,” said Hayley. “It was very disappointing and it seems like our team just can't catch a break. It just seems like one thing after the other keeps happening. We’re really hoping for some good finishes in the upcoming races. I'm doing everything I can do to try and win these races and I truly believe our time is coming. It was a tough weekend but again, we will take this and build on it in the future.”

Hayley is leading in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year points is currently eighth in the chase for the championship.

CAMERON HAYLEY MOTORSPORTS

Cameron Hayley Motorsports gearing up for the Montana 200

Calgary, AB- Cameron Hayley will return to his home track in the upcoming Montana 200 on July 21. Last year the Late Model Rookie sensation overcame significant setbacks during the race and managed a top five finish in the prestigious Event.

The Montana 200 is a big show that draws cars from Alberta, BC, Montana, Idaho and Washington States and show cases the Northwest’s best talent, young and old. 2011 brought close to 50 cars to Montana to compete for a shot at the title and this year the promoters are looking to eclipse that number.

The Cabinets by Hayley #24 Super Late Model Racing Team has been racing down south in 2012 under the tutelage of long time racing great, Bill McAnally. McAnally’s Racing Team spotted the young Canadian talent early in 2011 and wasted no time in offering him a full time ride for 2012 in the NASCAR K&N Pro West Division.

Halfway through the season, Cameron is holding a tight lead in the 2012 rookie of the year standings and is also being touted as one of the “Next Nine” drivers to keep your eye on. The “Next Nine” are NASCARs rising stars and these young drivers are expected to compete for jobs in NASCARs premier Sprint Cup Division in only a few short years.

The Cabinets by Hayley team will be returning to its roots for the Montana show and the team is eager to be back to familiar territory. “Cameron has been learning new tracks, racing new drivers, and learning the business of NASCAR and motor racing so far this year” a team spokesman says. “He’s been exposed to press conferences, grand openings in addition he was invited to a reception at the Toyota Racing Development shop in California where he was introduced to the very best drivers in NASCAR.

When asked why Cameron likes Montana Raceway Park so much, Cameron pauses to reflect before answering. “Even though it’s five hours away from my home, I consider it my home track. The fans there have always been extremely warm and supportive going back to my days in the Baby Grand; referring to the many wins that he experienced when driving the Scaled Late Model cars. They know I’m a good driver and they have always supported me” Hayley adds. Cameron likes the track too. “It’s very technical and we’ve always been able to work the top groove. My experience in the K&N Series has taught me even more about racing the top groove and I’m hopeful that we can make the car stick and race our way into the show. Plus, I love way the way the car drops into the corners and take a set, it’s just the coolest feeling!”

Cameron, still 2 weeks away from his 16th birthday, and his driver’s license, will turn 16 on the 21st. “It would be pretty cool to bring home the win on my birthday but the first order of business is making the show.” Cameron, while fast in 2011, barely made the show after several mechanical problems during qualifying and the heat races but returns with a lot more racing under his belt in the big heavy Super Late models.

With the first half of 2012 now in the rear view mirror, Cameron is excited about returning to his home track, in his car, and in front of his biggest supporters. “The Super Late model is lighter and more nimble than the cars I’ve been racing this season and I’m looking forward to taking advantage of what I’ve learned in the NASCAR K&N Series this year”, says the young star with an excited look of determination on his face.

He brought the No. 20 NAPA Toyota to pit road during the second caution of the Pick-n-Pull/Racing to Stop Hunger “200” to take fuel and minor adjustments.
